The Committee on Trade, Tourism,Investments & Industrialization led by its Chairman Hon. Julius Karuri (Kithimu Ward MCA) ,has been on a Three (3) days field visit to various Liquor Proprietors in Embu County to estasblish the state of liquor licensing ,harmonization of licenses , inspections and the challenges the proprietors are facing .
The randomly sampled proprietors have appealed to the Committee to deliberate on the high levies imposed on the traders ,increased village liquor dens and myriad illicit brews.
However, the business people have urged the Committee and the entire County Government of Embu to enact a law to govern the sale, distribution, production and consumption of liquor in Embu County.
